Alexander joined Arsenal in the summer of 2005, choosing the Gunners despite interest from Chelsea. He is a player much admired by Arsene Wenger. Hleb took time to adapt to the physical nature of the English game but he has shown a great willingness to improve and tackle back.
His partnership on the right of midfield with Eboue really flourished in 2006 (proving that not all attacks had to come through Arsenal's left). Hleb has an uncanny eye for a pass and although his execution of pass and shot isn't always the best if he gets it right it more often than not leads to a goal. Alexander has two great feet and is a terrific dribbler which causes defences all sorts of problems.
